A band of satin encircled the base of the standup collar. The full circle organza skirt was drawn up in the back to form a bustle; and the waistline was belted with a narrow satin ribbon. Groomsmen were the bride's brother, Medard Rybak, Jr. of McHenry; the groom's brother, Robert Fortin of Swanton; and Joseph Markland of Trumbell, CT. The mother of the bride was gowned for the occasion in a usty rose, cocktail length dress, designed with a high, V- neck; gathered three-quarter length, cuffed sleeves; a pleated skirt and matching braided belt. A green and black print silk dress with a draped bodice, buttoned on the shoulder, gathered three-quarter length, cuffed sleeves; and mandarin collar was selected by the groom's mother. Eighty friends and relatives attended a reception at the Island House Hotel. The newlyweds are both naval personnel. WafX FISH FRY f1SH Friday Nite All You Can Eat $395 At the October meeting of the McHenry Business and Professional Women, the Public Relations Committee, com prised of Dale Anderson, Lil Cairns, Catherine Fredrick, Barb Gerasch, Barb Gilpin, Bobbi Hauge, Marge Hauge, Barb Hoyt and Betty Smith, prepared the setting W a German Oktoberfest. ̂ They covered the tables in the restaurant with red and white checkered table cloths; and red patio candles and wicker baskets of pretzels added the finishing touch. The bead table was decorated with paper beer kegs and an array of beautiful German steins; and the wall behind it displayed an appropriate banner and signs. The com mittee members each wore a velure covered tyrolean hat, complete with feather, and everyone who attended received a button to wear, bearing the words "Habe Einen GutenTag" (Have A Good Day).' Immediately following the dinner, President G.G. Havens began the business meeting, asking for committee reports. Legislation Committee Chairman Lynne Donarski reported on a session she had attended with Cathy Nolan. Past Presidents - of the McHenry BPW were recognized and those in attendance included Lenora Frisby, Virginia Orr, Cathy Nolan, Adeline Pederson and Lynne Donarski. Other guests of honor were past tomen of the Year, Bertha Stange, Virginia Williams, Lenora Frisby, Ila verne Gregory, Mae Stinespring, Lillian Bolger and Alida Wirtz All of the honorees w§re presented a lovely white car nation corsage. Clin limaxing the enjoyable evening was the announcement that Joan Bauer had been chosen as the McHenry BPW's Woman of the Year for 1983 This charming, unpretentious lady was given an arm bouquet of silk red roses and baby's breath and a plaque. Her many qualifications which made her most deserving of this awArd were cited, and then she v^as paid further tribute by friends and family members. The next regular monthly meeting of the McHenfy Business and Professional Women will take place Monday, Nov. 28, and will be hosted iby the Legislation Committee. I Observes 104th birthday Miss Mary K. Schrtiitt, believed to be the oldest resident in the McHenry community, will observe her 104th birthday quietly Tuesday, Nov. 8. Miss Schmitt, who is in poor health, resides at Royal Terrace, McHenry, where she would welcome cards. !
