Only the cook need know that a convenience soup from the cupboard is responsible for the fresh feeling and light tex­ ture of two breads that are good enough to become a tra­ dition. ALMOND RING BREAD 5 î to 6 cups all-purpose flour V« cup packed light brown sugar 1 package active dry yeast 1 can (1H ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup 2 tablespoons lemon 1--1 J wee 2 tablespoons water to cup butter or Mi teaspoon almond extract Con feet toners sugar glaze In large bowl of electric mixer, combine I cups flour, sugar and yeast. In saucepan, heat soup, juice, water and butter until warm (I2C F.). Add to flour mixture. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer for 2 minutes Add eggs, lemon rind and to cup flour. Beat at high speed for 2 minutes, scraping sitfes and bottom of bowl often. Stir in enough remaining flour to make a stiff dough. Cover, let rise in warm place I hour or until doubled in bulk Punch down; stir in almonds and extract. Spoon into well-greased and floured 10" tube pan. Cover; let rise I hour or until doubled Bake at 400° F for 30 min­ utes or until done. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack. Dnzzie with confectioner's sugar glaze; garnish with addi tional whole almonds.
