Trad* Fair Supplement -- Feb. 27,1985 -- Page 4 If parking's a problem, shuttle to the trade fair Are mounds of snow getting in your way, no matter where you go? Get a lift from the free shuttle service which will give you a ride from the various parking lots right to the front door of the Trade Fair, March 1-3. Parking will be a breeze as volunteers from the Sheriff's Department and Emergency Ser vices and Disaster Agency (ESDA) find everyone a space to park. Then hop on a Pioneer Center bus and relax as you get curbside service to the Trade Fair entrance. Pioneer Center, a not- for-profit organization which pro vides an array of day and residen tial services for people with developmental, physical and men tal disabilities, is supplying the buses and drivers for continuous p a r k i n g s h u t t l e s e r v i c e throughout the weekend. Parking space, in addition to that at Parkland Junior High School, is offered by RAE Corporation and McHenry Sand and Gravel. Ar rangements for overflow parking at the American Legion have also been completed. So, no matter what the weather, a warm arrival at Trade Fair is guaranteed. Her inside contacts there made the shuttle chairmanship a natural to handle. As a first-year member on the Chamber board, Wiltse became the Fiesta Guide Chairman and produced the most outstanding Fiesta Days Guide to date. She served also as the 1984 C h r i s t m a s c h a i r m a n a n d reinstituted the retail decorating contest, which evoked such good response, it will be retained as a permanent part of Christmas ac tivities. Wiltse is co-chairman elect for Trade Fair '86. Lazalde is manager of the Chamber's medical insurance plan and an independent in surance agent. The medical in surance pain that is offered to all Chamber members is one of the benefits the Chamber has to offer to its members and keeps many local insurance agen s busy. Lazalde served also as chairman ('83) of the Profes sional Golf Outing and coordinator of the Chamber membership council in 1984. Lazalde is the Chamber director of the liaison committee for the newly-formed Fiesta Days board, which is the planning and policy setting board and includes people from various segments of the community. mam mm H»hHr Sail Sal* Mcfttator No match for Gabor trio One of the most enthusiastic supporters of Trade Fair is not one person, but three. The Gabor family is once again providing needed assistance to the Trade Fair. In 1984, the Chamber issued a special award to the Gabor fami ly, including their daughter Michelle, for outstanding service to the Trade Fair. Their total staf fing time during the past three Trade Fairs would equal that of any exhibitor, although they have never been exhibitors. All their hours have been donated for special assistance in many ser vices--the Chamber booth, cloak room, traffic control, exhibitor's lounge, greeting, seminars, emceeing entertainment ac tivities, set-up, clean-up and go- for. Father and husband, Alan Gabor, is known for hosting the Fiesta Days shows and Family Feud contest and he is a Trade CELLULAR MOBILE PHONE SYSTEM INSTALLED & 100 MINUTES FREE CALLING EVERY MONTH FOR MORE INFORMATION OR ADDITIONAL PACKAGES SEE US AT BOOTH #5! A l o n g - t i m e b u s i n e s s m a n , Gabor is a Chamber member although his business is based in Libertyville. 1 "We chose McHenry as our home and thoroughly enjoy the business community as well so it is appropriate that we are members of the Chamber of Com merce here," he said. The Gabor family involvement continues with Sandy Gabor and her activity as the Treasure Chest chairman. Many prizes, gift cer tificates and merchandise in the treasure chest will be on display. Between her successful roles as business assistant for her husbanc and mother of two children, she can also be found at China Light restaurant helping out their good friends, the Quans. Last but not least in this line of Trade Fair supporters is Rich, who has volunteered countless hours in the Chamber office to en sure that Trade Fair flyers, publicity information and mail ings are processed and distributed promptly. He even recruited a few friends to help him when the paperwork got really heavy. He will also be on duty at the Trade Fair to tackle maintenance chores, staff the treasure chest and be available for various chores and errands that arise.
