The couple was married in St. Gilbert's Church, Grayslake, 111. They farmed in the area all their lives until retiring eight years ago, when they moved to McHenry. A buffet dinner for invited guests will take place Sunday, March 10. Sharing the memories of this joyous occasion will be their children, Shirley and Louis Baum of Mundelein, 111., Bernice and Chuck Conrad of Camp Lake, Wis., and Don and Judy Behm of Wonder Lake; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The former Valerie Ann Gemmell and Thomas J. Sch- weder were pronounced man and wife by Pastor Clifford Kittleson, Dec. 1, in Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, McHenry. Green plants, palms and ferns enhanced the setting for the 2 p.m. ceremony; and music appropriate for the oc casion was provided by Mike Cajthaml and Jeannie Ludwig. The bride is the daughter of Thomas J. and Aleta M. Gemmell, 2802 N. Shorewood Dr., McHenry. John and Ann Schweder, 914 S. River Rd., McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. Attending her sister as maid of honor was Bea Gemmell. Bridesmaids were the bride's aunt, Sharon Walter and the groom's sister, Susan Schweder. The groom's sister, Jenny Sch weder and the bride's sister, Dana Gemmell were junior bridesmaids. Handling the duties of best man was the groom's friend Chris Adams. Groomsmen were the groom's cousin Paid Sch weder and his uncle John Powers. Friends of the groom, Clark Hanna and Scott Losch, served as ushers. All members of the bridal party are residents of McHenry. Following the nuptials, a reception for 150 friends and relatives was held at the Johnsburg Inn. The newlyweds honeymooned at the Holidome in Rolling Meadows, and are presently making their home in McHenry. Both attended McHenry Community High School East Campus. She was previously employed at Revco in McHenry; and he is an employee of the State of Illinois. Grand opening set at Moose lodge Senior citizens lunch menu Although the caterer for meals for the McHenry County Senior Citizens' Council Meet & Eat program requests that participants sign up for meals one week in advance, they allow changes to be made in the meal count 24 hours prior to each serving day. In other words, people can call the center they attend and reserve a meal 24 hours ahead of the day they plan to attend. For example, those desiring to eat lunch on Friday may call Thursday morning and make reservations. Reservations for meals at the McHenry Walk-In Center for the week of Mar. 11 through Mar. 15 should be made by calling 385- 8260 by Tuesday, Mar. 5. The menu for that week is as follows: Mar. 11: Baked ham, sweet potatoes, diced beets, tossed salad with dressing, bread, margarine, grapefruit sections, milk. Mar. 12: St. Patrick's Day Meal Mar. 13: Salisbury steak, brown gravy, rice pilaf, carrot coins, kidney bean salad, dinner roll, margarine, chilled pears and pineapple, milk. Mar. 14: Split pea soup, crackers, barbecued chicken, duchess potatoes, bread, margarine, peach crisp, milk. Mar. 15: Western omelet with Spanish sauce, . parsleyed noodles, mixed vegetables, carrot and raisin salad, bread, margarine, fresh banana, milk. Circle to meet The next monthly meeting of the Marcia Mary Ball Circle of the First United Methodist Church of McHenry will be held Tuesday, Mar. 5, at noon, in the church parlor, and Marjorie Ricker will be the hostess. The February meeting began with a prayer by Esther Sims. Hostesses Betty Fairchild and Lyda Radisch used Valentine decorations and served delicious refreshments. Mary Rose led the continuing study, "Women of the Bible," which is most interesting and intoirmatiye, and a lively discussion followed. Then, the ladies enjoyed a social time. Guests and newcomers are always welcome at circle meetings. Officers and members of the McHenry Moose Lodge No. 691 announce the grand opening of their new facility located at 3535 N. Richmond Road. Ribbon cutting ceremonies will be held at 7 p.m. March 9. The event is scheduled from 2 p.m. until closing. Hors d' oeuvres will be served, and dancing will entertain the guests from 9 to 12 p.m. Dignitaries from the Supreme Lodge at Mooseheart, 111. and representatives of the com munity will be present for the dedication. Members and their spouses or guests are asked to join in the celebration. This event is not open to other guests of mem bers. Women's Aglow hosts luncheon Women's Aglow Fellowship of Crystal Lake-McHenry will host its monthly luncheon meeting at 10:30 a.m. March 7, in John Evans Inn, Route 14 and Virginia Road, Crystal Lake. It is a day of new beginnings for two of the sisters in Christ, and they are going to share their testimonies. Another sister will play "Amazing Grace" on her autoharp; there will be a skit or two; and some solos in song of praise and worship by sisters known to many in attendance. Everyone is invited to join this joyous occasion in praise and adoration to Him who came to give life. "This is the day that the Lord hath- made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." Births LAVIGNE Aren is the name chosen by Russell and Karen Lavigne, 2907 Spring Road, McHenry, for their second child and first daughter. The infant arrived in Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry, Feb. 10, weighing 6 lbs. 15 oz. She has a brother Seth, age two and a half. BRODERICK A son was born Feb. 12 to Linda and Ray Broderick of McHenry and they named him Patrick Joseph. The infant entered the world in Lake Forest Hospital, Lake Forest, 111., and was greeted at home by Alissa, age ten and a half, and Aaron, eight and a half.
