Congratulations Mitch. We are all very proud of your ac­ complishments. BRIDAL SHOWER A surprise bridal shower for Sandy Straumann was given Saturday, May 4, in the home of Val Klapperich. Twenty guests enjoyed a buffet luncheon featuring chicken casserole, Italian beef, seven-layer salad, Chappaquidick salad, dream- sicle and mello yellow jellos, fruit salad and a raw vegetable tray. For dessert, a two-layer yellow and chocolate cake, decorated by Jeanette Matchen, was served. Sandy received beautiful gifts, one in particular which will always be treasured, a handmade counted cross stitch sampler made by the groom's mother, Diane Weinburg. Sandy and Jeff Speciale will be wed Junfe 15, at Christ the King Church. We wish them all the rest. CONDOLENCES We wish to express our sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lil Hansen. She died suddenly Saturday, May 4, at home. Lil and her family were residents of the village for many years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. I am also sorry to report that another of our lovely citizens passed away. Cecelia (Mickey) Swedberg, age 85, passed away May 7, in the Crystal Pines Nursing Home in Crystal Lake. She had been a member of the Ladies of the Lake for many years. We would like to express our deepest sympathies to her family and friends. She also will be missed by the many people who knew her.
