The choice for the month of April was Jason Vickery, son of David and Joahn Vickery, and a fifth-grader at St. John the Baptist School. He received the gift for outstanding service at the altar and willingness to always serve. This parish organization of­ fers the boys an opportunity for spiritual growth, learning more about their faith as well as entering into fellowship. Mother's Day, May 12, was a very special one at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in McHenry. The Rev. James Gaynor, pastor, assisted by deacon Gene Frost, celebrated First Communion Masses for 71 students.
