Huemann's got one in the second and three in the third, and hteld off Gambler West for a 4-2 win. In the second. Kris Teuber laced a lead-off tri ple, and scored on Bill Kaliher's sacrifice fly to make it 1-0. In the third, Gary Fairchild hit a two-out single to score a run, and a bobble in the outfield allow ed another run to score. TeUber then followed with a base hit to score Fairchild to make it 4-0. In the top of the fifth. Wayne Frantz hit an Inside-the-park home run, scoring Jim Frantz ahead of him. to allow for the Gambler's runs. Rutty Nail Ion 12, Huemann'S li Huemann's scored seven in the first, but the winner countered with seven of their own in thi fourth, and hung on to win. In the first, Keith Kaywood, who had four hits and three RBI in the game, singled in a pair. Two errors and two walk* helped to^Nit Huemann's ahead. In the bottom of the fourth, the Nail took ad vantage of four error* and five hits, to put them ahead 9-7. Tom Janik had a two-run single and Kevin Roach's RBI single tied the game for Huemann's in the sixth. But Bill Meyers' two-out single plus an error put him in scoring position in the bottom of the sixth, and Don Bentz's tingle proved to be the game-winner. Chuck Marke, John Connell and Rick Wakitsch had three hits each for the winners. Roach had three singles and scored twice for Huemann's. Lafcarido-auanon s, Gambler East 7 Lakeside Inn-River Shannon rallied for two runs in the bottom of the eighth to claim a well- earned, one-run, extra-lnnlng victory. John Mlchels' sacrifice fly scored Don Wicker- sham with the lead run for Gambler in the top of theeighth. • , j But in the bottom of the frame, Greg Istavanic singled, and Ron Cass and Mike Rogers followed suit to load the bases. Mike Stang then hit a deep drive down the right field line which was caught. but brought in the tying run Cass tagged and went to third, but an errant relay throw allowed Cass to score with the winning run. Mike Rogers had three hits, and Clark Bier- man. Cass and Istavanic two each for the win ners.
