The Ladies Sodality is in the process of collecting and sorting through these donations in anticipation of their annual rummage sale to be held the end of August. „ Please make sure the articles are useable to eliminate the work of the ladies having to dispose of things that someone else should have disposed of in the first place. The , school building is generally open during the day and after ail Masses on Suriday for, you donations to bring in your Joanne Firnbach is chairman of the rummage sale and she would appreciate any time she can get from the ladies of the parish in regard to sorting and pricing. If you have a free hour here or there during the summer give her a call. MARCHES ON ATLANTA! John Diederich, who will be a senior at Marian Central School this fall, is spending summer in Georgia. Sounds like fun, but I'm sure John will have a different opinion wheta he returns in August. John has enlisted in the Illinois National Guard and is spending nine weeks of basic training in thehot sun of Georgia at Fort Bragg. Football practice this August should be a snap for John after going through all this! ~ ELECTS OFFICERS The Ladies Sodality of Christ llie King held an appreciation dinner for all of its members Thursday, June 13, at the Warsaw Inn. President Sue Keener, her officers and com mittee, made it a very enjoyable evening for all who attend by adding that something special with delightful decorations. Two officers were unanimously voted on for the coming year. Marie Quillan will take over as vice president and Lucy Coleman will accept another term as secretary. After the short business meeting a stvle show was presented by a Crystal Lake shop with fashions being modeled by members of the sodality. There will be no meeting in July because of preparing for the annual rummage sale, but the ladies will meet again in August. All ladies of the parish are automatically members of the sodality, but to be an active member dues of $3 are required. SWIMMING LESSONS Registration has already taken place for the Red Cross Swimming Lessons sponsored by the Woman's Club of Wonder Lake, but there are still a few openings left. Lessons will be oven on the east side of Wonder Center Beach in the mo on the west side at Sunrise beach in the afternoons. The two-week course runs from July 8-19 for a half hour each day Monday through Friday. If you are interested in signing up your child, call Madeline Basile at 653-9751. Eleven members and one guest , Elizabeth Krauth, brought by Annie Lehnert, at tended the White Elephant sale which was successful. Barb DeMar had just gotten back from Wisconsin, attending her fiftieth Class Reunion, which was very nice. She also visited with her family. Since the ladies do not have anything scheduled for their July 11 meeting, they decided to go out for luncn that day instead of a meeting. It will be a nice change of pace.
