Summer is well underway. Garden flowers are in full bloom. To help you make use of those annual blooms, a variety of short courses in floral design with garden flowers are being offered by the Community Education Department of McHenry County College. John Wittmus, MCC or­ namental horticulture in­ structor will present ideas on how garden flowers can be enjoyed ih dramatic design, along with tips on care, quality and lasting potential. The first workshop will be held on Aug. 12 and emphasizes centerpieces; the second, on Aug. 13, concentrates on organic design; a third, scheduled for Aug. 19, is on asymmetrical design; the fourth Aug. 20 is on accent design. Each-day there is an afternoon session from 1-4 p.m. and an evening session from 7-10 p.m. All workshops will be held in Rm. 115 of the Applied Science Building on the McHenry County College campus.
