H&R Block, the world's largest tax preparation service, is offering a basic income tax course starting the week of September 1st with morning and evening classes available. Classes will be offered at 2 locations. During the 13 week course, students will study all. phases of income tax preparation and receive actual experience in preparing individual returns. Experienced Block instructors will teach current laws, theory and application, as practiced in Block offices nationwide. There is a classroom discussion on e?ch tax subject and practice problems at ev ery level. Courses are programmed to teach students increasingly complex tax problems as study progresses. Students will find the course both interesting and challenging. Courses are ideally suited for people who want to increase their tax knowledge and learn how to save money on taxes or who are looking for a rewarding career. No prerequisites are required to enroll. Qualified course graduates may be offered job interviews for positions with Block. Many accept employment with Block because of the flexi ble hours available. However, Block is under no obligation to offer employment, nor are graduates under any obligation to accept em ployment with H&R Block. One low course fee includes all textbooks, supplies and tax forms ne cessary for completion of the course. Certificates and 7.5 continuing education units will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. Also, the cost of the course may be tax deductible. This course is approved by the Illinois State Board of Education. Registration forms and a brochure for the income tax course may be obtained by contacting the H&R Block office at 5101 W. A circle on the calendar indicates that Sept. 13 will be an exchange day with Turnberi7 at McHenry. The ladies are remind ed to make plans for the occasion. It should make for extra... Happy Golfing! Liz. CHAPEL HILL The contest for first place in the Tuesday Ladies League is exciting ly close. Fox Hole Tap is leading by just -point. They now have 80% while Classic Trophy has 80. McHenry Favorite Sports has kept third place with 79. Steffan's Jewelers has 77, Little Chef 65Vfe, Acu Pac 62%, McHenry Floral 56% and Mar Ray Costumes 49. The contest of the day was for low team putts, won by Classic Trophy with 143. After another torrential rain the night before, the course on Aug. 13 was full of new water holes. Every drive and hit on the back nine land ed in water and those on the front said the sandtrap on five resembled a lake. Maybe that is why we have no birds or chip-ins to report. Next Tuesday will be our final day of match team play. It should be a close, interesting contest for first place. See you then, Esta.
