The tourna- | ment, with entries from nine Western Universities, started last Tuesday with the Team Championship. This event was won by Drake University of Des Moines, Ia. The medal play, thirty-six holes, which decided the Team champions also served as a qualify- ing round for the Individual championship, sixteen men qualifying. A heavy rain interrupted the pro- ceedings in the afternoon, and caus- ed somewhat larger scores than in the morning round. The Team Play Results: Drake University .:.......... 684. Members of the North Shore Golf Club, Saturday are to contend for honors in the Qualifying round of the Directors' Cup; 32 to qualify, 18 holes handicap. R. H McElroy, Jr, of Wilmette, established a new course record for the second nine holes last Saturday when he negotiated the distance in 35, the old record being 36. The feat was considered especially meritorious in view of the fact that he made the score in a driving rain. J. A. Wilson won the Blind Bogey special event at the club last week- end. et ies Winnetka Playfield Association schedules the qualifying round for the July Class tournament, a handi- cap event.
