The Children's Chorus has sung at the festival since its begin- ning, thirteen years ago, and has become one of the regular el tures of festival week. At present the chorus consists of children from the schools of Evanston, Wilmette and Glencoe, and numbers approximately 1,500 of the children of the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. A large number of choruses and cantatas have been sung during these festivals, all with the accompaniment of the complete orchestra and all in a manner which has made the Children's Concert well known not only to the patrons of the festival but to the coun- try at large. The children who will sing at Ravinia are selected from the in- termediate schools of Evanston.
