Kinney, Director of shop- work in the Winnetka public schools, has been appointed Head of the Manual Training department of the Francis W. Parker school in Chicago, beginning with the end of the present school year. During the coming year Mr. Kinney will devote the major portion of his time to a comprehensive study of the place of handwork in the Park- er school at the present time, with a view to introducing such additions as will make the work more effective. Colonel Parker, who founded the school, was one of the foremost ex- ponents of the educational value of handwork.
