Thursday, Friday and Saturday bills are featured by the showing of "Oliver Twist," with little Jackie Coo- gan in the stellar role. : Future attractions at the Howard, dates for which have not been an- nounced, include "Rich Men's Wives," featuring House Peters; "Slim Sloul- ders," with Irene Castle, and "The Kentucky Derby." starring Reginald Denny of "Leather Pushers" fame ADELPHI THEATRE "Oliver Twist," with Jackie Congan in the title role will begin next weak's program at the Adelphi, Clark street at Estes, Rogers Park. The film that is generally considered the child actor's best effort. shows on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, December 3. 4 and 5. Reginald Denny in "The Kentucky Derby" will provide the thrills at the Adelphi on December 6 and 7. A double featur2 program begins on Friday, December 8, and will be a weekly feature on Adelphi Friday bills. December § finds Shirley Ma- son and Tom Mix in the stellar roles, the former in "Youth Must [fave Love," and the handsome exponent of virilty in "Just Tony." Saturday, December 9, finds Her- bert Rawlinson featured on the Adelphi bill in "One Wonderful Night." Sunday. December 10, brings James Kirkwood in "Ebb Tide." HOYBURN THEATRE Irene Castle hclds first place at the Hoyburn Theatre Monday and Tues- day, December 4 and 5, in her portray- al of "Slim Shouiders," a film that af- fords her ample opportunity to give vent to her dancing proclivities. It is her latest production. Constance Talinadge comes for a three-day stay beginning Wednesday. December 6, in a classic screen por- trayal of "Hast is West," made famous on the spoken stage. This is a film of which it has been said: "Its stage success has been eclipsed by sereen splendor" There are eight reels of wonderful drama, radiant romance suffused with Oriental spell. Con- stance makes Ming Toy an unforget- able figure of smiles and tears. NEW THEATRE NAMED The Strand Theater which was re- cently purchased by Clyde E. Rlliott will be named the "New Evanston" it was announced this week. After submitting a list of the names suggested for the new theater to a committee selected from the mer- chants of Evanston and the students of Northwestern University it was unanimously voted to name the new theater after the city. After the name was selected Mr. Elliot declared he would use every effort in present- ing the highest class of entertain- ment, consisting of first run exclusive picture, orchestra and specialties which will make the "New Evanston" Theatre to Evanston what the "Chi- cago" Theatre is to Chicago.
