Tuesday's concert, like those pre- ceding it, was received with great en- thusiasm by a large audience of north shore music lovers. The orchestra, numbering thirty-two pieces in the first concert, thirty-two on the sec- ond appearance and thirty-eight in the third program, was. swelled to forty-three for the final event of the season. Six of the proposed con- certs will be for children 'and high school pupils, and seven for adults. This season there were eight concerts divided evenly between children and adults. North Shore Carpenters To Get Pay Boost April 1 At at meeting of the Carpenters' lo- cal union in Highland Park last Tues- day evening action was taken in- creasing the wage scale from $1.10 an hour to $1.25 an hour, to take effect April 1. This action taken by the local is said to be in conformity with similar action on the part of other locals in Chicago and on the north shore, and the wage scale increase will be gen- eral in Cook county and along the north shore, carpenters report.
