Marble Dies Following Long Illness Funeral services for Edith Haggard Marble, wife of Edward M. Marble of 664 Lincoln avenue, were held from the home Thursday of this week. Burial was at Forest Home. ND ~~ Bervices were conducted by Rev. James Austin Richards, pastor of the Congre- gational church. Mrs. Marble is survived by her hus- band, a son, Eugene C. Marble, of 3884 Lincoln avenue, a sister, Mrs. Belle C. Houser, and a brother, John D. Hag- gard. . Lind, Mason Contractor, Dies at Chicago Hospital Al Lind, well known Winnetka mason contractor with offices at 26 Prouty an- nex, passed away at the Alexian Broth- ers hospital, Chicago, Wednesday morn- ing, February 21. Mr. Lind suffered a stroke of paraly- sis four months ago from which he fail- ed to recover. He had been confined at the hospital for two months. Wires, Chimney, Fireplace, Causes of Residence Fires Defective electric wires caused a fire in the attic of the home of Mrs. Her- mon B. Butler, 715 Prospect avenue, which forced Winnetka's fire department to put forth their best efforts for two hours last Sunday before the blaze was conquered. The fire went unnoticed for some time before the department was called. Dam- age caused by fire was confined to the attic and roof, although water, which leaked down to the story below, added to the total damage. Another lively engagement with fire was experienced when a call came from the home of Jerry W. Rothschild, 1173 North avenue, last Monday morning. The fire was caused by a defectively built fireplace. Because the fire was in a very inaccessable place some damage was done in putting out the blaze. An overheated chimney at 808 Pros- pect avenue, the home of Joseph H. Brown, was responsible for another run by the fire department. There was no damage. POSTPONE BASEBALL DANCE The dance to have been given this evening by the Winnetka Baseball club, has been indefinitely postponed, it was announced this week. The dance will be held at a date to be mentioned in the near future. \ / \ RAPF "WARNER * BROTHERS present 3 VER ; GORDON AYA) "BEST FRIEND" Proouceo By 31120294 ~ a 4 AN NN NN NN NN NN NN NN AN NNN NN ANNAN AA N PON NN NN NN NN NN NN NN A NN ANN A NA NN NAN NN NY COMMUNITY HOUSE NEXT FRIDAY MARCH 2nd bi, DIRECTED By Arran naansann ENN NN NN NNN ANANNNNNNNNNNNNX PHONETICALLY they are the same.
