WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, MARCH 24, 1923 NEW TRIER WINS MUSIC CONTEST Team of Girls Will Enter the Finals New Trier High school defeated the Deerfield-Shields High school in the preliminary Music Memory contest held at New Trier Thursday, March 15. In consequence of the victory a team of five pupils will represent New Trier in the final contest to be held at Orchestra hall Chicago, on Satur- day, March 31. Winning students who will repre- sent New Trier are, Olga Reinhold, Pauline Manchester, Katherine Ham- ilton, Lillian Fitch and Elizabeth Francoeur. The first four of this group had peyfect papers and the last two were tied for fourth hon- ors. Pauline Manchester, Katherine Hamilton and Lillian Fitch were on last year's New Trier Music Memory contest team. A large attendance marked the con- test. In the interval while the judges were examining the contestant's pap- ers, the Little Symphony orchestra, George Dasch, director, gave a de- lightful .concert. The entire Chicago Symphony will play for the final contest on March 31 at which a score of schools in Chi- cago and vicinity will be competitors.
