After the service a reception will fol- low at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Rehm, 1525 Astor street. Mitchell, Jr. the matron of honor; Miss Frances Coonley, sister of the bridegroom, maid of honor, and the bridesmaids, Mrs. Edward Kenneth Welles, Miss Katherine Strawn, Miss Maroussa Russel, all of Chicago; Miss Marjorie Lake of Hartford, Connecticut, Miss May Luke of Tarrytown, New York, and Miss Claire Daugherty of Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Edison Dick will serve as best man for Mr. Coonley, and the ushers will he Mr. John J. Mitchell, Jr., Mr. Edward Ken- neth Welles, Mr. Jay N. Whipple, Mr. Albert Madlener, Mr. Paul McBride, Mr. Howard Coonley, Jr., cousin of the groom, and Mr. Edward Rawson of New York. Many affairs have been given for Miss Rehm previous to her marriage, and following is a list of those who have entertained for her during the past week. Wacker of Lake Forest, a buffet luncheon; on Monday, Mrs. William Bush, a luncheon, and in the evening, Miss Maroussa Russell gave a dinner party. Mrs. Tracy Buckingham gave a luncheon on Tuesday, and in the evening Mrs. John J. Mitchell, Jr., was a dinner hostess. | Chicago entertained at luncheon on Wednesday ; in the evening Miss Mrs. T. J. Lefens of Katherine Strawn gave a theater party. Mrs. John W. Scott of Hubbard Woods entertained the bridal party for dinner on Thanks- giving day; in the afternoon Mrs. Coonley Ward and Mrs. John Stuart Coonley had a reception from 4 to 7. Mr. Coonley gave his bachelor dinner that evening while Mr. and Mrs. Rehm were host and hostess at dinner for the girls of the wedding party. Yesterday, at 6 o'clock, the rehearsal was held in the church; Mrs. William C. Seipp gave the bridal dinner which was followed by a dance, at the Drake. Miss Owsley to Marry Wm. Green Dec. 20 A SIMPLE wedding will take place on Thursday, December 20, when Miss Caroline Owsley, daughter of Mrs. Harry B. Owsley of the Drake, will become the bride of Mr. William Stuart Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ogden Green, 90 Locust road. Only the immediate families will be present at the marriage service which will very quiet owing to a recent death in the Green family. Mr. Green and his bride will leave immediately after the ceremony for Greenwood, Virginia, where they will reside. Mrs. George F. Suker is the Win- netka chairman of the Toy Carnival which is to be held on December 8, all day at the Evanston Woman's club. Mrs. Marcus Richards is the Winnetka vice-chairman. The Toy Carnival given by the alumnae of the National Kindergarten and Elementary college has become an annual event on the north shore. The proceeds will all be used for the college building soon to be erected hf Mrs. George F. Suker on Sheridan road in Evanston. A charming dramatization of Col- lodi's Italian classic, "Pinocchio," by student players of the college will be given three times during the Carnival Day, at 9:30, 11 and 2:30. A special feature of the Carnival which will be worked out this year as the Magic City will be Happiness' Hall where King Ha Ha will reign supreme with all his jolly attendants. The carnival will furnish who.esome fun and quantities of very reasonably priced Christmas gifts for young and old. A delicious hot luncheon will be served from 11 to 2 and refreshments all afternoon, in the Elfin Inn. These and many others are the attractions offered on December 8, from 9 in the morning until 6:30 in the evening. Mrs. Suker has maintained a Carn- ival workshop at Community House for the past two months cooperating with the Central group of alumnae in Evanston. Meetings have been held each Monday afternoon. Several other Winnetka groups have also made large contributions to the vari- ous departments of the carnival. Tickets for the play "Pinocchio" may be secured from Mrs. George Suker, Winnetka 585 or at Commun- ity House. Mrs. Florence S. Capron, president of the North Shore alumnae of Na- tional Kindergarten and Elementary college is the general chairman. ioe The Christmas shopper, who believes in "doing it early" will find many at- tractive things in the many booths that will feature the bazaar to be held at the Evanston Woman's club December 7 under the auspices of the Northwest- ern chapter of Alpha Phi Delta. Tea and afternoon bridge will also be fea- tured. The doors will be open from 12 noon until 12 midnight. Miss Helen M. Rogan is chairman. ily a The Thalian Dramatic Club of North- western university gave a workshop production of Miss Alice Gerstenberg's new comedy, "Nine in the Heart," on Monday even'ng at Annie May Swift Hall, to members of the North Shore Theater Guild. Mss Kathryn Crush, of Wilmette, took the leading role. There were many Wilmette members in attendance. --Q-- Mr. and Mrs. Edgar I. Alden, 352 Linden avenue entertained twelve guests at dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Mrs. Alden was the recipient of a twenty pound turkev from her home in North Carolina. Mr. Alden was in Freeport, Ill, on business this week.
