THIS TOY SHOP IS BUSY PLACE Country Day School Big Aid to Santa Claus Santa always gets the North Shore Country Day school on the radio about December 1, and by now the whole school is busy turning out freshened dolls and toys that the old Saint may have plenty to go around at Christmas time. It is a busy place --that toy shop! Little folks and big folks have brought from the attic and storeroom all the things that can be fixed by skilfull hands. Crilly Butler is head of this big factory this year and busily do the © wolunteer employes, in their extra moments and after school mend, and scrub, and paint, and renew, in all the different departments. Here are. a.group cleaning and bind- ing fascinating story-books destined to| make some little people happy; there, | some children are pouring over a game to see what parts have to be added; in the workshop boys are mak- ing new kiddy-cars, or renewing old wagons, or roofless doll-houses; some- one emerges from the doll depart- ment with arms full of mended dolls ready for the paint department, while little folk can be heard gaily washing tiny dresses and rompers. "Does any- one know how this works?" comes from the mechanical department where the voices are scarcely audible above the buzz and whir of toy traifis and automobiles. To the school party, December 20, will come Santa, himself, and the toys, in a shining array, will greet him from the stage. Factory organization and willing Christmas spirit make the Toy Shop at North Shore a real help to Santa Claus in his Christmas giv- ing.
