1 WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 22, 1923 Sissors Zoo-Man Will Make Day Nursery Kiddies Joyful HE kiddies of the Matheon Day Nursery of Chicago Commons, are anticipating with great glee the party which is planned for them on Fri- day morning, December 28. Mr. Ever- ett Davis, the "Scissors Zoo-Man" of Evanston, will delight the children with his cut-out animals. Mr. Davis will produce any animal the children ask for, and while he cuts them out, he recites happy little tales and jingles about each one. He can cut out two or three a minute, and by the time he has finished his entertainment he has dozens and dozens of the little creatures hanging on a black curtain. Santa will be there to greet the chil- dren, and carols will be sung around the Christmas tree. Mrs. Theodore Coyne of Winnetka, and Mrs. Charles Pardee of Highland Park, have arranged this party for the youngsters. --0-- Cooper Lawley, tenor will appear in recital at the Winnetka Woman's club on Thursday afternoon, December 27, at 3 o'clock. Miss Margery Winslow, pianist, will assist him, and he will be accompanied by Mrs. Ernst von Ammon. Mr. Lawley will sing numbers of Liszt, Salvatore Rosa, Wolf-Ferrari, Hageman and Giordano. Miss Wins- lgw will play compositions of Gluck, Respigli, Chopin, and Debussy. The program is in charge of the Music committee of which Mrs. Norman Har- ris is chairman. ay On Christmas night, Mr. George Owsley of 720 Prospect avenue will leave for Arizona. - On Saturday, December 29, Mr. and Mrs. Lon C. Hill and their children, who have been with the Owsleys, will depart for their home in Texas. Mrs. Owsley will go to Evanston after her daughter leaves, to stay with her father, Mr. A. F. Dean, until the middle of February when she will join Mr. Owsley in Coronada, California. BE On New Year's Eve, Mrs. Frederick Hossack Scott of Hubbard Woods, will entertain twelve guests at dinner at the Blackstone hotel for her daugh- ter, Miss Isabel. Later in the evening they wilt all attend the Princeton Triangle club play to be given at the Aryan Grotto. --_-- The Gamma Phi Beta sorority of Northwestern university held a bazaar in the Evanston Woman's club on Wednesday. Food and Christmas gifts were on sale in the afternoon, and in the evening, a bridge party was held. The benefit was given to raise funds for a new sorority house. --_---- Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Woodcock and their daughter Lindsay of Oak Park, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Woodcock and family from Hinsdale, and Mr. George Leach of Oak Park, will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert 1. Kenilworth Happenings The Nativity Play and Glee club concert given at the New Trier High school on Sunday was an altogether delightful entertainment and exceed- ingly well done. After the concert luncheon was served in the dining hall and Mr. Clerk announced that there would be a meeting of the New Trier Alumni on Saturday, December 22.
