More than 300 persons are expected to attend the event, which starts with a dinner at 7:30 o'clock. Professional entertainers have been secured to add to the evening's pleasures and an. open air dance will top off the festivities. A large staff of employes and work- men have been kept busy on the club's premises the past fortnight in prepara- tion for the occasion which promises to mark a social epoch on the north shore. The club's opening will inaugurate a series of the coming season's func- tions. Among these will be a dinner and dance every Saturday night, with the Sunset Ridge orchestra, an organization of eight pieces under the direction of Ted Ruhl, furnishing the music. The club has assigned Tuesdays as ladies' days, when bridge and luncheons will be the features. Mixed foresome events are scheduled for Wednesdays, with prizes for the winners. The prize winners will be an- nounced at the club's dinners those eve- ings. The club golf course will be open for play at 8 o'clock on the morning of July 4. Howard Walton, who is chairman of the grounds committee, and who is one of the founders of the club, will be the first man to tee off. Robert Pirie is the professional in charge of the course. The officers of the club are: President, Forest Lowry; vice president, Howard Walton; secretary, Charles Hough, and | treasurer, William Hough. Police Nab Alleged Phone Box Robbers Three men were picked up Saturday night, June 21, by Officer Fjellman of the Winnetka police force, who are charged with larceny It is alleged that Albert Burke, alias Alexander Backstrom, Joe Daugherty, alias M. J. Ryan, and Herbert O'Donnell, alias Harry Roberts, all of Chicago, were breaking into telephone boxes in Hub- bard Woods and Glencoe. The police report that these men have police records. They are being held for the July grand jury, under $5,000 bonds each. Joe Daugherty was also fined $10 and costs for oper- ating a motor vehicle without a state license, in Magistrate Northrop's ses- sion.
