-------- » WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, AUGUST 16, 1924 13 Arden Shore Invites You to Its Midsummer Frolic LI, friends of Arden Shore are urged to betake themselves to that attractive spot on Wednesday af- ternoon, August 30, to behold the Mid- summer Frolic that will be given at 3 o'clock on the green and in the recrea- tion hall where the Arden Shore Ar- cade will open up to the spectators a "land of wonders" made of living pic- tures, exhibits of antiques and relics, a chamber of horrors, a snake charmer and freaks, rare animals and a famous band. About twenty strolling players will wander about the grounds, where other campers in costumes of different nations will represent villagers of Italy, Mexico, Bohemia, Russia and Ireland. The Kindergarten kiddies will appear in animal dances, and older girls will give a number of dances,. Unique races and stunts will provide further enter- tainment. The spacious grounds, shady and beautiful, extending to the edge of the lake bluff, will appear in a gala dress fashioned of lanterns and flags, flags of our own, and other nations. Mrs. William Clow of Lake Forest, assisted by a committee of north shore women, will be the hostess who will serve the visitors with refreshments. --_--O-- Mr. and Mrs. Andrew W. Mitchell of 254 Scott avenue have as their house guests, Mrs. C. P. Beard and Miss Della Flint of Louisville. Mrs. Mitchell gave a luncheon and bridge for them on Monday. Oo Mr. and Mrs. William G. Pancoast of 637 Hill road, who were called to Cleveland on account of the death of Mrs. Pancoast's brother-in-law, James R. S. will be held in the Temple on Friday, August 22, at 7:45 in the evening. New Trier Summer School Sessions Closed Friday Summer school sessions at New Trier Township High school termin- ated Friday of this week, thus bring- ing to a close the most successful vacation study period in the history of the secondary school. Attendance at the classes this sum- mer totaled 530, according to the registrar's report. The roster of stu- dents included those who were mak- ing up delinquencies in studies and others who were intent upon doing advance work. The school was in charge of George A. Harper, dean of boys. A corps of 14 instructors was retained for the summer sessions.
