WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1924 DONATE PIANO 10 OUR SCHOOLS Kuppenheimers 'Add Stein- way to Memorial Hall Mr. and Mrs. Louis B. Kuppenheimer, generous donors to Skokie school of Jane Kuppenheimer hall, have again made the community indebted to them by placing in this beautiful memorial hall a magnificent Steinway concert grand piano. This instrument will not only add the finishing touch of comeli- ness to a hall noble in its proportions and unusually attractive in its color- ings and decorations, but it will also be an invaluable aid to school and com- munity music. This plano will be dedicated on Mon- day evening, October 13, by a recital to be given by the gifted young artist, Gitta Gradova, pupil of Mme. Djane Lavoie-Herz of Chicago. That this re- cital will be a great delight and in- spiration to the audience is assured when one considers the marvelous ability of Miss Gradova. By a writer in "The Nation" she is ranked as the "fore- most woman pianist now before the public." The following are excerpts from the numerous press notices testifying to Miss Gradova's tremendous talent: "Virility and great power, musical insight, an astonishing command of finger technique, together with feeling and imagination."--New York Herald. "Talent far beyond the measure dis- played by the average, a combination of technique and expressive power that captured and held the interest." --New York Tribune. "A player of exceptional gifts, con: sisting of strongly marked interpreta- tive talent, splendidly virile attack, ac- curate technical mastery, and a sensi- tive touch and soulful tone."--New York American.
