GYM SCHEDULE Classes for All Ages in 1924- 1925 Season Resumption of activities at Community House brings forth, this week, the ac- companying gymnasium schedule for the 1924-25 season. It provides activities for five days in the week. Classes are con- ducted under the supervision of trained athletic directors. The schedule follows: Monday, 9 o'clock--Morning class for women. (This class meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at the same hour.) 3:45-5:30--Social , dancing--boys and girls. : 7:30-8:30--Young men's class. 8:30-9:30--Men's class. Tuesday--9-12--tennis. 3:45-5:30--Boys' general activities. 7:30-8:30--Young women's gym class. 8:30-9 :30--Friendship Circle class. Wednesday -- 9-12 -- Women's gym class. 3:45-5:30--Girls' gym class. 7 :30-10--Basket ball practice or base- ball games. Thursday--9-12--Tennis. 3:45-5:30 -- Aesthetic girls. 7:30-10--Young women's baseball and basket ball, or Boy Scouts. Friday--9 o'clock -- Women's gym class. 3:45-5:30--Boys' gym class or Camp Fire Girls. 7:30-10 Base ball games or basket ball practice. Saturday--9-12--Tennis. 2-5--Boys. 5-6--Men. 7:30-10--Basket ball games and extras. Membership in gym classes is open only to those who are members of Com- munity House. dancing for Artist-Photographer in New Studio at Evanston Shoji Osato, the home photographer who has become rather well known along the north shore, by reason of the artistic work he has done for so many of its families, has returned from Omaha, where he has been for a week or more disposing of his studio and interests there. He is now per- manently established as a north shore artist at 615 Hinman avenue, Evans- ton. Kuppenheimer at a concert to be given at .the Skokie school, Monday evening, October 13, in ded- ication of the Steinway concert grand piano recently presented by them to the school for the Jane Kuppenheimer Memorial hall. This recital is to be given by Gita Gradova, a pianist of extraordinary technical and interpretative powers, ranked by the well-known periodical, The Nation, as the "foremost woman pianist now before the public." The New York Tribune speaks of her tal- ent as "far beyond the measure dis- played by the average, a combination of technique and 'expressive power that captured and held the interest." The New York American rates Miss Gradova as a "player of exceptional gifts, consisting of strongly marked interpretative talent, splendidly virile attack, accurate technical mastery. and a sensitive touch and soulful tone." The piano which Miss Gradova will use is an instrument representing the best material and highest skill of the Steinway Piano company, it is ex- plained. VIOLATES QUARANTINE August Dernek, a gateman at a Winnetka railroad crossing, was ar- restéd by Winnetka police this week on a charge of violating the quaran- tine law. He was turned over to North Chicago officials. Lawrence A. Janney Will Lead Sunday Men's Class Lawrence A. Janney, a well known res.dent of the village and assistant leader of the Sunday Morning Men's class, of the Congregational church, will be the speaker at the class discussion in Community House Sunday morning, October 5, at 9:30 o'clock. Mr. Janney will discuss the specific subject, "God, the Father," in relation to its bearing upon the general theme, "How Shall We Think of God?" which is occupying the attention of the class over a period of several Sundays. Mr. Janney is one of the most popu- lar of the speakers at Men's class ses- sions, possessing the faculty of present- ing his subject in a most comprehensive and understandable manner. His ap- pearance before the class this Sunday is expected to have the effect of en- couraging an unusually large attendance. The class attendance has been con- stantly increasing since the beginning of the new season of discussions sev- eral weeks ago. Every man in Win- netka is invited to attend the sessions and enter into the membership of the class. The discussions are non-sectarian in character.
