This will be the annual benefit per- formance promoted by the post for welfare work among disabled veterans in and about Evanston. Last year the sum raised by the presentation of "Larkie," also by Mr. Mendenhall, was devoted to relieving pressing want in Evanston and vicinity, in the tornado area and in France, and for the enter- tainment of the boys in the govern- ment hospital at the Great Lakes naval training station. This latter work will be continued when the service fund is replenished by this season's perform- ance, the entertainments greatly need- ed and appreciated by the boys in the hospital. In the writing of "Cap'n Bobs," Mr. Mendenhall has incorporated selections from seven of the best known Sul- livan operas, combining them with an original story. He has chosen from "Pinafore." "The Pirates of Penzance," "The Mikado" and others equally lovers of light opera music. The tickets sale is in charge of W. B. Taylor and Louis Lazar.
