a March 20, 1926 WINNETKA TALK PLAN EUROPEAN TOUR New Trier High School Girls to Make Summer Trip Under Guidance of Teacher Ted north shore girls, probably all | pupils of New Trier High school, will make a two months' tour of Europe this summer, under the supervision of Miss Jessie M. Sentney, teacher of French at the high school. Most of those to be included in the party have already made their arrangements, but there are a few places left and Miss Sentney urges any who wish to join this group to see her immediately as reservations for passage must be ar- ranged far in advance and it also takes some time to secure passports. The group will leave New York June 30 on the S. S. Andiana and will arrive at Cherbourg on July 9, taking the train to Paris, where a week will be spent. During this time there will be motor excursions about Paris and to Barbizon and Fountainbleu. There will also be excursions to the battle-fields of Chateau Thierry, Belleau Woods and Rheims. On July 17 the party will go to Montreux, from where they will make excursions to Geneva, seat of the League of Nations, and other places. July 20 they will be at Interlaken on the next day will leave for Milan, where they will spend a day, after which they will make a two day stop in Venice. July 25 they will leave for Florence, the Italian art center, where they will spend two days, departing for Naples July 28. After two days in Naples they will spend four days in Rome. The party will be in Genoa August 4, in Lucerne, Switzerland, August 6, and in Strasbourg August 7, after which they will go to Brussels where they will spend two days. August 11, 12 and 13, they will be at The Hague and Amsterdam leaving there to arrive in London August 14 for a week's stay. While in London they will visit the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Westminister Abbey and many other historic places. There will also be a three-day motor tour to Windsor. On August 21 the party will sail for America from Liverpool, on the S. S. Athenia. They will arrive in Montreal August 29. School authorities are en- thusiastic about the trip which will give Just West of Center St. 841 Spruce St. Luncheon 12 to 1:30 Tea 4to5 Dinner 6 to 7:30 (Except Sundays) the girls who join the party a chance to see Europe under the guidance of an experienced teacher. Miss Sentney is familiar with Europe having spent much time there. Epidemic of Influenza Depletes School Ranks The prevailing epidemic of influenza is responsible for the absence of one- fourth of the students at Horace Mann school this week. Three of the teach- ers, Miss Louise Henderson, Miss Milli- cent Anderson and Mrs. Edith Wooddy were absent last week on account of illness and this week Miss Mabel Ducker and Mrs. Edna Woods are on the sick list. Owing to so much sick- ness there was no assembly this week. Work is going forward throughout the school on the spring songs, prepa- ratory to the Spring festival which will be given a short time before the close of the school term. Evelyn Totman, of the sixth grade and Barbara Totman of the third grade are in France, with their parents, and will attend school while there. Louise Stanton, of the fourth grade is also in Europe with her parents. TO HAVE SMALL WEDDING The approaching marriage of Miss Gladys Spry, daughter of John C. Spry of Evanston, and sister of Mrs. Morris Wilson of Winnetka, to Wheaton Augur, son of Mrs. Aalter Wheaton Augur of Chicago, will take place at Mr. Spry's residence, Wed- nesday, March 24, in the presence of a small company of relatives and a few very intimate friends. Mr. Augur and his bride will make their home in Evanston. PLANS BUNCO PARTY The Friendship circle will give a bun- co party in the Neighborhood room of Community House Tuesday evening, March 30.
