Roosevelt in June for Vacation in Europe Three New Trier High school boys have their summer vacation cut out for them. And what a vacation it is to be. A trip to Europe! All expenses paid; everything right up to snuff and not a worry or care. All the way over and back and not a penny of cost to them. That's the word that comes from a thoroughly reliable source of informa- tion and that's all the news forthcom- ing at this time, except that the boys-- one from Wilmette, another from Win- netka and a third from Glencoe--will sail out of New York harbor on June 30 aboard the S. S. Roosevelt one of the line of "President" ships of the United States lines. Genuine Education It would be impossible to catalog in this brief space all the attractions this tour will offer. In merely consider- ing a few of the places these fortunate boys will visit one might mention historic England: London; Holland; The Hague; Amsterdam; Heroic Bel- gium, with her century old cathedrals, galleries, monuments; glorious France, battle scared still, but bravely covering her wounds and carrying on as of old; romantic and ever youthful Paris, with her Napoleon's Tomb, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, The Madelaine; the famous battlefields of the world war, the great sections where the fighting was most fierce and where Americans made history. It will be a trip to be remembered as long as they live. Imagine the Thrills Just imagine the thrills of this first trip abroad; thrills that will never be repeated. True, these boys may make the trip again in the years to come, perhaps many times, but no subsequent journey can ever rival genuine interest and delight this first glimpse of the Old World through the highly imagin- ative and impressionable vision of youth. There wil be more about this re- markable trip in next week's issue of WiLMETE LIFE.
