His subject will be "An Illustration of Faith." Dr. Stone is one of the best known min- isters in America. He spoke to a large audience at the Wilmette Sunday Evening club last year. Miss Marie Zendt will be the soloist. Another capacity house greeted the Branson De Cou "Dream Pic- tures" last Sunday. It was one of the most delightful evenings in the history of the club, it was stated. Winnetka 800 Northbrook Acreage Sold for $1,500,000 One of the largest real estate trans- actions in acreage ever recorded on the north shore is said to have been made recently, at Northbrook, Glen- coe's neighboring village to the west, where approximately 250 acres within the north corporate limits of the vil- | lage sold for a reported $1,500,000. The land was owned by Anthony Batek and is said to have been pur- chased by real estate interests whose plan is to subdivide the tract. Northbrook, as recounted elsewhere in this issue, voted almost unanimously at a recent election to annex 800 acres lying to the east of the former village limits. This new territory and the reported purchase for subdivision purposes of the Batek tract, evidences great fu- ture possibilities for that village. Will prevent Pneumonia, and Flu. A reproduction of the old Elizabethan theater has been de- | signed and produced by Aleyn Burtis, jo! Northwestern university. The his- orical accuracy of the setting, with its inner and outer stage, will give an atmosphere, and a flavor, which is rare in Shakespearean productions of today. Not for twenty years has there been a performance in this country which has used the original Shakespearean production. Even Ben Greet used simple scenery with screens, and not the Shakespearean background of in- ner and outer stage and balcony. On account of the lavish scale on which this production is to be made, there will be an advance in the prices charged non-members for admissions, at the door. It is still possible, how- ever, to become a member of the Guild, and secure all the privileges of Guild membership for this and future plays, by applying to John Allen Stewart, 1003 Grove street, Evanston. For the benefit of school children, a special matinee performance at popular prices will be given, Saturday afternoon, Jan- uary 22, in the Jane Kuppenheimer Memorial hall of the Skokie school. On October 1, 1778, the territory conquered by Colonel George Rogers Clark of Virginia was made the Illinois territory by the state legislature of Virginia. and now that you have time to think-- 1152 Central Avenue Think of Cleanin The rush and crush of the holiday and party activity is over, at least there is enough lull in social matters, so that small matters of personal detail can be given considera- tion. The necessity of looking one's best does not vanish with the social lull. Contacts continue; the clothing must continue to be an asset in making the man or woman appear best. And now that you have time--go over each garment, and let the cleaner present you with a new wardrobe, so to speak. You know we know how.
