If placed end to end, the confection- ery would make a giant "Baby Ruth" candy bar over 165 miles long. The present shipment, an innovation in the candy businness in the United States, is the fifth trainload movement of candy bars manufactured by the Curtiss Candy company of Chicago that has been made in the last several weeks, two already having been moved to Pa- cific coast points, one to New York City and one to Southern points. These five solid trainloads are the "first of thirty-two trainload shipments that are being moved by this firm to all parts of the United States within a period of sixty days, comprising the largest movement of confectionery in history. The Cherry Street circle will have an all-day meeting Tuesday, March 22, at the home of Mrs. Dayton Ogden, 1337 Asbury avenue, Hubbard Woods. Mrs. Oscar Olsen and Mrs. Carl John- son will be assisting hostesses. All members are asked to meet at 1062 Cherry street at 10 o'clock so that arrangements may be made for all to drive to Mrs. Ogden's. --O-- Max Murdock of 1087 Oak street was one of the speakers at the annual Founder's day banquet of the Chicago Alumni club of Phi Delta Theta fra- ternity held March 16, at the Palmer House. Yale Chronicle Films Attract Many Residents The Yale Chronicles of America photoplays being shown at New Trier High school every week are attract- ing capacity audiences in the after- noons when the historical films are shown especially for the children of the township. The evening showings of the pictures, however, have not been marked by such a large attend- ance. It is emphasized that all residents of New Trier are invited to view these interesting and instructive films. There is no admision charge. Children are welcome to come to the evening show- ings accompanied by older persons, it is explained.
