The proposed ordinance providing for an amendment of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Winnetka is as follows, to-wit : AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN OR- DINANCE TO CLASSIFY, REGU- LATE AND RESTRICT THE LOCA- TIONS OF TRADES AND INDUS- TRIES AND THE LOCATION OF BUILDINGS DESIGNED FOR SPECI- FIED USES AND TO REGULATE AND LIMIT THE HEIGHT AND BULK OF BUILDINGS HEREAFTER ERECTED, TO REGULATE AND LIMIT THE INTENSITY OF THE USE OF LOT AREAS AND TO REGU- LATE AND DETERMINE THE AREA OF YARDS, COURTS AND OTHER OPEN SPACES WITHIN AND SUR- ROUNDING SUCH BUILDINGS, AND TO ESTABLISH THE BOUNDARIES OF DISTRICTS FOR THE SAID PUR- POSE AND PRESCRIBING PENAL- TIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF ITS PROVISIONS," PASSED AND AP- PROVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF WINNETKA ON THE SEVENTEENTH DAY OF JANUARY, 1922, AS AMENDED. That Section 18 of an ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance to classify, regulate and restrict the loca- tions of trades and industries and the locations of buildings designed for specified uses and to regulate and limit the height and bulk of buildings here- after erected, to regulate and limit the intensity of the use of lot areas and to regulate and determine the area of yards, courts and other open spaces within and surrounding such buildings, and to es- tablish the boundaries of districts for the said purposes and prescribing penalties for the violation of its provisions," passed and approved by the Council of the Vil. lage of Winnetka on the seventeenth day of January, 1922, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by adding to the paragraph of said section 18 designated "C" Commercial District, the following description of certain real esate which said real estate as described is hereby de- clared to be included in said "C" Com- mercial District, to-wit: Lots Eight (8) to Thirty-seven (37) inclusive in Block One (1) and Lots One (1) and Two (2) in Block Two (2). in MANUS' INDIAN HILL SUB- DIVISION of those parts of the North half of Section Twenty-eight (28), Township Forty-two (42) North, Range Thirteen (13) East of the Third Princi- pal Meridian, described as follows: Be- ginning at a point in the west line of the North East auarter of said Section Twenty-eight (28), five and seventy- two one hundredths (5.72) chains south of the North West corner there- of ; thence south seven and seventy- four one hundredths (7.74) chains; thence east four and ninety-eight one hundredths (4.98) chains to the west line of the right-of-way of the Chicago & Northwestern Railway ; thence north- westerly along said right-of-way line to point of beginning, otherwise known as Lot Six (6) in Assessor's Subdivision (unrecorded) ; also that part of the North half of the North half of the North West Quarter of said Section Twenty-eight (28) lying between Ridge Road and said right-of-way of Chicago & Northwestern Railway, in Cook County, Illinois, as shown by plat there- of recorded in the Recorder's office of said Cook County on June 22, 1922, as Document Number 7550571, SECTION 2. That the last paragraph of Section 18 of an ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance to classify, regulate restrict the locations of trades and indus- tries and the location of buildings designed for specified uses and to regulate and limit the height and bulk of buildings here- after erected, to regulate and limit the intensity of the use of lot areas and to regulate and determine the area of yards, courts and other open spaces within and surrounding such buildings, and to es- tablish the boundaries of districts for the said purposes and prescribing penalties for the violation of its provisions," passed and approved by the Council of the Vil- lage of Winnetka on the seventeenth day of January, 1922, as amended, designated "A" Residence District, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "A" RESIDENCE DISTRICT: For the purposes of this ordinance, all of the real estate situated within the Village of Winnetka as originally organized under the charter of said Village, and all real estate heretofore annexed thereto, and not in this ordinance de- clared to be included within the dis- tricts designated "B" Residence Dis- trict, "C" Commercial District, or "D" Industrial District, or hereafter an- nexed to said Village and not in the ordinance providing for such annexa- tion, or otherwise declared to be in- cluded in any other district, shall be and the same is hereby declared to be included within the District designated by this ordinance "A" Residence Dis- trict. SECTION 3. Boyden Car Stolen From Garage Recovered in Iowa The William C. Boyden car which was stolen from the garage at the Bovden residence, 725 Pine street, Winnetka, sometime Wednesday night of last week, was recovered the fol- lowing day at Dubuque. Towa. The Winnetka police received a report of the theft Thursday morning at 7:30, hastened the usual broadcast and at 10 o'clock were informed that the car had been located at Dubuque. The thief had evidently "stepped on the gas," after leaving Winnetka, but as an example of real speed. Chief of Police W. M. Peterson and his force gave a greater demonstration in the broadcasting of the theft. AWAY ON BUYING TRIP The Aimee shop, 568 Lincoln ave- nue, Winnetka, will close during the month of August, during which Mrs. Aimee Strensky will go East on a buy- ing trip. She will re-open the shop September 1, displaving a stock em- bracing the early fall modes.
