Museum Exhibits Aerial Garden of the Tropics An "aerial garden of the tropics" was placed on exhibition at Field Mu- seum of Natural History, Chicago, this week. The garden 1s a clump of exotic aerial plants from the luxuriant vege- tation of the Guiana jungle, where, in the competition for space and light, many different kinds of flowering plants are forced to live in the tops of trees, according to Dr. B. America's Largest Selling High Grade Coffee *Good to H E the last drop" OUSE Girls' Club Bridge Proves Successful Venture in All Ways The New Trier Girls' club bridge benefit held last Saturday at 2:30 o'clock in the Mess hall at New Trier High school was a huge success from every standpoint. The food sale was also very popular, Five hundred peo- ple in the township turned out for the bridge party. Bridge was played until about 4:30 o'clock, when refreshments were served by attractive girls in stif- fly starched gingham dresses. Between hands and during dummy hands people visited the food booth where they near- ly always made some purchase from the dainty array. Taking the benefit as a whole, the Girls' club realized about $1,000, in- cluding the food booth which brought in $200. The two-fold aim of the bridge benefit was attained; firstly to make $1,000--and, secondly, to encourage the girls to go into a bazaar next year with the enthusiasm that they would not have had had they given a bazaar this year instead of something different. The girls were particularly glad to make their thousand dollars this year as Miss Wright, who is now on leave of absence while teaching in an English school, will be so delighted. The Girls' club also wishes to thank the people of the township for the hearty co-operation and support. which the various villages showed in all the projects of the Girls' club. Junior School to Benefit by Musicale Next Monday Three Evanston artists prominefit in music circles are to give the program Monday evening at the musicale given at the North Shore hotel for the bene- fit of the Chicago Junior school on the Fox river just north of Elgin. The program is to be given by Mrs. Downer McCord, soprano soloist; Miss Grace Sieberling, pianist; and Mrs. Martha Oliver Mendenhall, reader. Calvin Lampert will accompany Mrs. McCord. Many dinner parties are being plan- ned preceding the musicale which commences at 8:30 o'clock. On entering, the guests were greeted by a lighted Christmas tree and a brilliant fire in the grate. Supper was served at midnight, each guest receiving a gift as a remem- brance of the occasion.
