WARD WILL GIVE VESPER SERMON Assistant Rector of Christ Church Continues Series on Great Religious Personalities At the Vesper service in the chapel of Christ church tomorrow at 5 o'clock, the Rev. R. Malcolm Ward, assistant rector of the parish, will make the second of his series of ad- dresses on "Great Religious Personal- ities." His subject this week will be "St. Benedict: The Establishment of Religious Regularity." Mr. Gerhard will preach the sermon at the mid-week service at St. George's church, Chicago, next Wednesday eve- ning. On Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30 there will be held in the chapel of Christ church the usual mid-week Services of Holy Communion. Next Thursday afternoon at 4:30 Mr. Ward will conduct the Children's service and show a number of lantern slides bearing upon the work of the church, which have become a feature in the Lenten program of the parish. The monthly meeting of the Woman's Guild Auxiliary of Christ church will be held next Monday in the Parish House, commencing with a Litany service in the chapel at 10 o'clock. The time from 10:30 to 12:30 will be devoted to sewing. The women are working for St. Luke's hospital, St. Mary's Home and the Church Mis- sion of Help in Chicago; St. Mary on the Mountain, Tenn., and Christ Church Mission in North Dakota. At 12:30 luncheon will be served, followed by a business meeting when reports from the various committees will be received, including the report on the Mardi Gras luncheon. There will also be a vote on the amendments to the Constitution as approved by the Ex- ecutive committee. At 2 o'clock the second session of the Lenten Study class will be held, under the leadership of Mrs. Joseph Halstead, of St. Mark's church, Evanston. Playing at Greek Games Nearly Costs Him an Eye Little "Mike" Hutchinson, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Paul Hutchinson, is recovering from a severe eye injury suffered last week when he and a group of his friends were playing in the Hutchinson yard, at 1028 Cherry street. The boys had been studying Greek history, and they took the study too seriously, making themselves long 'javelins and then hurling the weapons at each other in a make-believe war. Eleven-year-old "Mike" was struck a glancing blow in the eve, bruising his nose. For a day it was feared that the eye could not be saved, and it was swollen shut until Wednesday of this week. "Mike" will probably be able to return to school next week. TROOP ENTERS CONTEST Troop 35 of Ravinia, the troop tha* won the first aid contest in the North Shore Area council, is preparing to compete against the leading first aid team in Evanston and the Northwest Suburban council in a three-cornered meet which will be held in Evanston on Friday, March 23. Xi chapter of Chi Omega sorority held its initiation Saturday, February 25.
