Snell, Clarence Schafehen, Edward R. Lewis, Marshall Knox, Howard Carpenter, Thomas J. Lynck, Earnest Campbell, Willis Erne, and E. H. Howell, of Winnetka Post No. 10, American Legion, visited the Great Lakes Naval hospital. In addition to providing cigarets, the party distributed thirty-seven suits and overcoats and miscellaneous wearing apparel, consisting of shoes, sweaters, shirts and ties. When the trip was made to the hospital in January, only two hundred sixty-six beds were occupied, but since that time the in-coming patients have brought the roster to over four hun- dred. Many of the in-coming men are in need of clothes, and it might be ex- plained not all these men receive com- pensation. although they do receive the free hospital care and food from the Government. Next Trip March 25 Winnetka Post No. 10 is going to the hospital again on March 25, and if any citizens of Winnetka have old suits or overcoats for which they have no further use, the members of the Post would be very glad to gather such clothing for distribution at the hospital. Please call Harold Voltz, 882 Spruce street, phone Winnetka 1455; Freder- ick L. Chapman, Adjutant, 795 Pine street, phone Winnetka 1797; or, E. G. Howell, 558 Birch street, phone Win- netka 1293. The recipients of the clothing on last Sunday were very thankful, and Win- netka Post in turn wishes to thank the generous citizens of Winnetka, through this medium, for their kindly and grateful support.
