About forty players were out and others came later for the delicious luncheon and open meeting. The ques- tion of handicaps was brought up and a vote was carried to increase handi- caps two strokes at the beginning of the season, a method which most of the clubs have adopted. Tuesday has been chosen for the regular golf day, instead of Friday as in past years. Announcement was made of the special prizes to be awarded for the season: a ringer trophy, the first prize for each class for the low score made on Tuesdays and during tournaments; a handicap prize, a prize given for the greatest percentage of reduction in handicap during the entire season, the percentage figured on the ratio be- tween the number of strokes reduction and the handicap at the beginning of the season; an approaching and putting trophy, for which contests will be held every two weeks and the trophy passed from winner to winner throughout the season to become the permanent pos- esssion of the player winning it the greatest number of times; the honor trophy, no player may win more than one regular prize each month. Every winner will be given an honor and the player who has won the greatest number of honors during the season will receive a special honor trophy. Tuesday's event was medal Ploy with full handicap, with Mrs. H. D. Fargo winning in Class A with a score of 100-8-92; and Miss Helen Seng winner of Class B with 112-20-92. In the nine hole event of medal play, Mrs. M. J. Hubeny won in Class C with 62-16-46.
