Arrangements have been made to bring Ivan Lazareff and his Chicago Art Theatre company to the new Ravinia auditorium in a series of pro- ductions on Wednesday and Friday evenings, July 6 to August 1. There will be a new production every Friday evening. This is the second season for the Art Theatre company on the north shore. Last year those of social and artistic temperaments found an eve- ning at the Moraine hotel theater very much to their liking. The opening production is Dickens' tale of Merrie England, "Cricket on the Hearth," with Ivan Lazareff in the part of John Peerybingle. The second bill is a comical satire, "The Torch Bearers," by George Kelly. Other productions are, "The Marriage of Balzaminoff," by Ostrovsky, and a series of "Sketches of Life." Frosh and Soph Girls to Have Play Day on June 2 Saturday morning, June 2, at 9 o'clock the New Trier girls will cele- brate Freshman-Sophomore Play day. The girls in those classes have been practicing the events in their gym classes, and it is the hope of the Phy- sical Education department that every girl in these two classes will compete in this Play day. The events have been planned so that all the girls will feel free to compete in some of the events to be offered. There will be base- ball games, track events, and stunts, including sack and potato races that do not require preliminary practice. There will also be several surprise events. Points will be given in the 5-3-1 method, that is, five points for first place, three points for second, and one point for third place. All the points made by the freshmen will be added together, and the same will be done with all the sophomore scores, and the class with the most points will be declared winner. Although it was the original idea to have members of the freshmen and sophomore leaders' corps officiate, they will probably be taking part in the Play day, so juniors and seniors will officiate. Barnett home decorated the Glen- coe Union church Saturday afternoon, May 12, when Miss Elizabeth Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C, Miller of Glencoe, was married to Cedric C. Gifford of Highland Park. The flowers were used in memory of Mrs. Barnett, who was a close friend of the Miller family. The church was profusely decorated, and most of the flowers were left there for the Moth- er's day service on Sunday. Miss Miller wore white georgette; her maid of honor, Miss Rebecca Mil- ler, wore a bouffant dress of yellow taffeta; and the two bridesmaids, Miss Fugenia Moore of Glencoe and Miss Ruth Wilson of Wilmette, were in bouffant green taffeta frocks.
