Mrs. Snyder is also very active in working for the garden fete which the club is planning to hold at the home of Mrs. Minna Schmidt, 2715 Sheridan road, Evanston, on June 28. This fete, which is to serve the dual purpose of providing recreation for the members of the club and securing funds for the permanent headquarters which the organization hopes to es- tablish shortly, is planned with activi- ties varied enough to suit anyone. These include moving pictures, chorus singing, swimming contests, fortune telling, bridge and bunco, and danc- ing. Mrs. Clarence E. Frazier of Ev- anston is general chairman of the event. CRASH AT INTERSECTION Two cars, one driven by J. Peterson, of Deerfield and the other by Homer Hilton, of 455 Birch street, Winnetka, collided at Green Bay and Tower roads, last Saturday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock. Both cars were considerably damaged but no one was injured. Mr. and Mrs. George A. Martin, 965 Elm street, announce the birth of their third son, Thomas Joseph, Wednesday, May 16, at St. Francis hospital. : Goodyear's Newest Tire Lasts as Long as Car Goodyear's new superlative tire, the Double Eagle, recently put on the market to honor the thirtieth anniver- sary of the founding of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., is now on sale at the Standard Tire company, 1815 Ridge avenue, Evanston. This tire, the dealer states, goes be- yond other oversize and extra-ply tires and those built for heavy duty and lists as its features: deep cut all- weather tread with almost double the thickness of the standard Goodyear balloon; the toughest and longest- wearing tread compound ever de- veloped by Goodyear; more plies of fabric and more rubber between plies; rubber cured by low temperature to insure long, slow wear. ; "We are not urging every motorist to buy a pair or set of Double Eagle tires," states the dealer. "This is frankly a tire that is a lot better than the average motorist needs. Under normal conditions it will last the life of the average motorist's car." The Double Eagle is recommended for salesmen and business men, com- mercial houses with fleets of cars or trucks, and in general those who can- not afford delay from tire troubles. Mrs. Thomas McLaren, 1004 Pine street, and their children leave Thurs- day, June 7, for the east, to sail from New York City on the Laconia, June 9. They will spend three months visiting relatives and friends in Scot- land.
