June 9, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 23 New Annapolis Head to Visit at Northwestern Rear-Admiral S. S. Robison, newly appointed superintendent of the United States Naval Academy, will visit Northwestern university Saturday, June 12, Commander S. B. McKinney of the naval unit of the R. O. T. C. has announced. He is making a tour of several of the outstanding universi- ties of the country with a view to adapt-~ ing some of their courses to the cur- riculum of the naval academy. Ad- miral Robison was graduated from the naval academy in 1888, and was made a rear-admiral in 1918. In 1917-18 he was commander of the submarine force of the Atlantic fleet. From 1923 to 1925 he was admiral in command of the battle fleet, and since 1925 has been admiral in command of the United States fleet. Miss Elizabeth Stutson, 479 Sunset road, came home from the University of Illinois over last week-end. She returned to school on Monday night. The world's best swimmers will give instructions at the American Red Cross Life Saving Institute at Delavan, Wis. beginning June 14 and continuing to June 23. About 100 students are al- ready enrolled and more are expected soon. As usual, the Institute has in the faculty, as well as student body, some of the outstanding swimmers of the country. The teaching staff includes such prominent swimmers as Capt. Fred C. Mills, director, swimming and water work, Boy Scouts of America; William Bachrach, Illinois Athletic club; Paul Samson, University of Michigan; Mrs. Katherine Whitney Curtis, Chicago Normal college; C. E. Daubert, Iowa State college; Mr. and Mrs. George Eckert, Hirsch Social Center, and several others. The Institute, which is conducted under the auspices of Chicago Chapter of the Red Cross is directed by Dr. H. W. Gentles, who is in charge of life saving and first aid work in the chapter.
