Christian Science Churches "Love" was the subject of the lesson- sermon in all Churches of Christ, Sci- entist, Sunday, July 29. The Golden Text was from I John 4:16, "We have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him." Among the citations which com- prised the lesson-sermon was the fol- lowing from the Bible: "And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the lep- rosy departed from him, and he was cleansed" (Mark 1:40-42). The lesson-sermon also included the following passage from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "Love for God and man is the true incentive in both healing and teaching. Love inspires, illum- ines, designates, and leads the way" (p. 454). In ordinary cold storage refrigerators. where air is stale and unchanging, foods cannot be properly kept.
