Sa aati August 18, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 43 North Shore Theater News RIN-TIN-TIN STARS Community House Will Show One of Famous Dog's Pictures, "Rinty of the Desert," Next Tuesday "An appealing and unusual dog story with the one and only 'Rin-Tin- Tin, " is one critic's summary of "Rinty of the Desert," coming to the Com- munity House next Tuesday night, Au- gust 14. It is the story of a desert- bred dog who seeks his lost mate in the city, a story which successfully avoids the customary setting for dog pictures. Rin-Tin-Tin's work can be described only in sputtering superla- tives. The Community House will also show next Tuesday a scenic picture en- titled "Story of Our National Parks," and a Paramount cartoon. "Fools for Luck," to be shown at the Community House next Friday, is a riot of fun from start to finish, and the laughs are made more enjoyable by being woven into an interesting story that has its full quota of thrills as well as a dash of intriguing romance. The picture shows W. C. Fields as a silver tongued promoter who can make people scramble for the oppor- tunity to turn over good money for worthless paper. Chester Conklin is shown as the leading citizen of a small town and an expert with a pool cue. The pool game is only one of the many extremely amusing incidents which liven this comedy. There is a scene where Conklin, thinking he is getting into bed with his wife, climbs in with Fields. And Conklin is the last man in the world Fields wants to see. Indian Love Film "Ramona" to Play at Teatro 2 Days "Ramona," the Indian love story which has been winning the hearts of Chicago theatergoers for weeks, is to be the chief attraction at the Tea- tro del Lago for two days next week, Monday and Tuesday. The picture is adapted from the story by Helen Hunt Jackson, which is regarded as one of the present day American classics. "Ramona" is a tale of early California in the days of the Mission Indians. The plot is concerned chiefly with the half-Indian maiden, Ramona, (Dolores del Rio), who is in love with two men, one of them the Indian, Alessandro, played on the screen by Warner Bax- ter; the other, Felipe, the Spanish Don, played by Roland Drew. Mary Astor, Lloyd Hughes, and Louise Fazenda are featured at the head of a splendid cast in "Heart to Heart," First National's lively roman- tic comedy which is the Wednesday offering at the Teatro del Lago. Mary Astor is an Italian princess who re- turns to her American small-town home and is mistaken for a seamstress who is expected to participate in ela- borate reception plans. So she works to further preparations for her own arrival, creates a scandal with her girl- hood sweetheart, Lloyd Hughes, and generally upsets the town. "Heart to Heart" is packed with the sort of clean comedy, romance, and touches of pathos that should delight "family folk." "Patience" will be Belle Bennett's next starring vehicle. live in. terior does to the guest. proper acclimitization can.
