Handbook Recounts Varied Activities at the High School The New Trier Township High school student handbook for 1928-1929 has just come off the press. The book is published annually by T.N.T., hon- orary society at New Trier High school. This year's book, which is the second one published, contains 8l pages. E. A. Kahler, dean of boys at the high school, was the faculty repre- sentative. The new handbook is a complete summary of New Trier's activities, ob- jectives, and policies. It contains gen- eral information as to requirements for entrance, absence, tardiness, disci- pline, and various school regulations, 2 directory of the faculty, a synopsis of school activities and traditions, an outline of courses, a school calendar, floor plans of each of the floors in the high school building, and other infor- mation about New Trier. An interesting feature at the back of the book is a directory of 80 col- leges and universities, giving the courses offered, entrance requirements, estimates of expenses, and other facts. Kopald was Formally Installed at North Shore Congrega- tion Israel Friday An event of considerable importance to the Jewish community on the north shore was installion of Rabbi Louis J. Kopald as the rabbi of North Shore Congregation Israel, located in Glen- coe, which event took place last evening, at 8 o'clock, Rabbi Kopald was formerly for many years rabbi in Buffalo, N. Y,, and was generally a leader in the civic activities of that city. The North Shore Congregation Israel, which dedicated its new temple and auditorium in Glencoe early this year, is the first Reformed Jewish Congregation to be organized in any of the north shore suburbs and serves the residents of all the adjoining towns. The importance of this event, not only to the people of this vicinity but to the Jewish people of the entire country, is indicated by the fact that Dr. Stephen S. Wise of New York, one of the leading Jewish rabbis of the world, installed here especially to deliver the principal address of the occasion. Others of prominence in Chicago and other cities were in at- tendance. : Episcopalian Women to Attend Meeting Washington, D. C., will be the gathering place of Episcopalian wemen from all over the country on October 10, when the meeting of the Woman's au:)liary of the Episcopal church will be held. Mrs. George Allen Mason of Highland Park, president of the Chi- cago Diocesan branch, it is announced, will head the delegation. Among others expected to be in the group are Mrs. E. A. Kirkland, Mrs. C. Colton Daughaday of Winnetka, Mrs. Edwin J. Randall, Mrs. B. A. Crowe of Kenil- worth, Mrs. John Oliphant, Mrs. George O. Clinch, Mrs. William F. Pelham, Mrs. G. W. Marshall Knox and Bride Will Live in Northbrook The marriage of Miss Alma Madsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Soren Mad- sen of Menominee, Mich., to Marshall Knox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Knox of 1046 Spruce street, took place Saturday, September 1, at high noon, at the St. John's Lutheran church, the Rev. Herman W. Meyer officiating. The bride and groom left at once on a short wedding trip in northern Michigan and upon their return will occupy the house in Northbrook which Mr. Knox recently built.
