Boozer Wins North Shore Golf The woman's golf championship at the North Shore club again has been decided, with the title this year going to Mrs. Ralph C. Boozer of Wilmette, with Mrs. H. H. Harrison of Park Ridge, runner-up. Mrs. M. B. Wilson won the class B match. Miss Helen Evans of Wilmette won the class C tournament, with Mrs. Charles R. Shabino of Wilmette, runner-up. Tuesday was the occasion of Lads and Lassies day at the North Shore, the day upon which the women gave their annual party for men. The af- fair consisted of a golf tourney in the morning and a dinner-dance in the evening. More than eighty reserva- tions were made for the event, for which beautiful prizes were donated. The following Tuesday will be Guest day, with the last Tuesday of the month the finale of the season, when prizes will be distributed. Mr. and Mrs. Beardslee and family of 560 Elm street returned Septem- ber 15, to Winnetka from Lake Mills, Wis., where they spent the last month. Pardee Beardslee leaves September 17, to enter Williams college. Undernourished boys between 13 and 17 who have been forced to leave school and need work to help their families are given healthful days dur- ing the winter at Arden Shore. They are youngsters found by the boards of education when they request certi- ficates permitting them to work, youngsters who are evidently physical- ly unfit to do so. They are given days of outdoor play, balanced diets, rest, recreation and va- cation at the camp to put them into fit condition to work. All the open-air shacks are being closed in, buildings are being repainted and the entire camp is being cleaned for the opening of the season. This year's charity ball which the Chicago Arden Shore committee gives each year will be held Nov. 30 at the Palmer house. Plans for the affair, which always draws a large patronage from Evanston, will be discussed Mon- day at a meeting in the Ambassador hotel. LUNCHEON HOSTESS Mrs. Roger K. Ballard, 862 Foxdale avenue, entertained at luncheon and bridge on Wednesday afternoon at the Exmoor Golf club in honor of her sis- ter, Mrs. Arthur A. Gross of Milwau- kee, Wis. who is her houseguest. Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Dallas of 1124 Pine street and their children, Har- riet, Louise. Mary and Hughes, have just returned from an extensive Euro- pean trip. : Selim Mr. and Mrs. Marc Newman who rented the Harry Clark house at 958 Spruce street for the summer, will re- turn this week-end to Chicago.
