The first meeting will be held Oct., 15. Edwin H. Clark, architect, will talk on the design of zoological parks. He is the architect for the new Chi- cago zoo, now being planned, and has just returned from Europe where he was sent by the zoological park asso- ciation to study and inspect design in zoos abroad. At the second meeting, to be held in November, Professor Emil Lorch, head of the department of architecture of the University of Michigan, will speak on "Modern Tendencies in Ar- chitecture." The regular annual meet- ing will be in December, at which of- ficers will be elected for the coming year. In January there will be a dinner and reception at the opening of the second annual architects' exhibition, given in co-operation with the Uni- versity guild in the ballroom of the Orrington hotel. The exhibition will last the entire month. ENGAGED Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Krafthefer of Wilmette announce the engagement of their daughter, Virginia Loratta, to Fugene R. Schwartz of Naperville, Ill. Miss Krafthefer is a graduate of St. Mary's-of-the-Lake while Mr. Schwartz is a graduate of Notre Dame university.
