It was decided to have the Christmas Children's Service on Sunday evening at 6:30 o'clock instead of on Christmas eve. This was done because this arrangement would enable many more people to attend the service. It was also decided to have only two services on Christmas Day, the first early morning service at 6:30 and the second service at 9:45 o'clock. The usual 11 o'clock service will be omitted. Sun- day evening he will give his lecture on Early Lutheranism in America from 1529 to 1838, at St. Peter's Lutheran church, Joliet, III Sunday, December 16, it will be exactly five years to the day that the new St. John's Lutheran church was dedicated to the service of God. In view of the fact that the congregation just celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary there will be no elaborate festivities. There will, how- ever, be a special service of commemor- ation and thanks, and the special at- tention of all members is called to this. North Western Club Will Sing Carols at Terminal Christmas carols will be sung in the Chicago and North Western terminal by the Chicago and North Western Railway club from 2 until 6 o'clock Saturday afternoon, December 22. Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" will be sung at 3 o'clock and again at 5 o'clock. The rest of the program will consist of old English carols. The club will he assisted by its own orchestra of twenty- five pieces which has recently been organized. All members of the chorus and orchestra are employes of the North Western Railway company.
