I Mam so vital to growth and. Editor, Downers Grove Reporter. Dear Sir: You are to be heartliy congmtula~ ted on your editorial headed “Our School Condition" which appeared in your columns in the issue of Septem- ber 29. You have not only expressed the feelings of all those who really love this dear old town but you ex- posed to them some facts which I believe are new to most minds and should rouse, from the deep slumber which the dormant minds of the vil- lage have been enjoying, to a renew-J ed spirit of alertness and hitherto; cob-webbed viewpoint of let the other ‘ , {allow shoulder the burden. Your article has proven and straightforv wardly shown that the time for a. united action has come and that we must all shoulder the responsibility and turn the great faculties of in- ertia from its properties of lying in an inactive state to its greater pro- perty of never stopping. We, who are alumni of this dear old school are slowly beginning to lose that pride and the presume that was‘ rightly ours at one time and we feel‘ that we are slipping into a. period of, obscurity from which we will ascend! when the day dawns that finds ourg‘ future businem. men and housewives“ enjoying the full privileges that the times accord. “'9 are all aware of the fact that the greatest asset to 1 any to“ large or small is an cdura-l tional hyStl‘m that ranks with the] highest and that will place the young? blood of our town on a par with thel Downers Grove, 11)., Sept. 30, 1922.
