Harvard Herald: Applications for loans on McHenry county farms are being received at the headquarters of the McHenry County Federal Loan bank at Woodstock, where long time loans are made on farms and those who become borrowers automatically become members of the federal land bank organization, which last year paid 8 per cent to its stock holders. Loans already negotiated aggregate $158,000 on McHenry county farms, A. J. Gafke says, and applicants on file total $45,000, he says, so that March 1 will witness federal bank loans at more than $200,000, it is claimed. An attractive feature of payment is the long time offered, a reasonable, interest per cent and the opportunity of membership in the federal bank, which is under government supervision and therefore is secure in every way, Mr. Gafke says.
