Bull Valley certainly has its share of contageous diseases. The school is nearly broken up with cases of chicken pox and some of the older ones have mumps. Farmers are very busy preparing ground for corn, but the greatest problem is seed. Very few were able to gather seed from their own crop last year as the hard storm in August nearly ruined the crop. DONT LIKE TIME CHANGED After the village council at Barrington had passed a resolution by which that municipality would adopt the day-light saving time, twentybusiness men agreed to operate their respective places on central standard time. TEAR GAS An electrician accidentally tripped the release on a triple gas bomb while making repairs on the burglar alarm at the Farmers' National bank at Lake Geneva, Wis., one day recently, thus forcing the employes to flee from the building. DETACH SECTIONS FROM HEBRON SCHOOL DISTRICT Land in five sections of the Hebron community high school district has been detached from the district by order of Judge Edward D. Shurtleff of the McHenry county circuit court, following hearing of petitions. The school board of the district did not oppose the petitions. The land was detached because it was from eight to ten miles from the proposed school location, while Alden and Woodstock were more readily accessible. WOODSTOCK MASONS ERBCT HUGE ELECTRIC SIGN An electric sign ten feet high is being erected just outside of the Masonic hall at Woodstock. The sign will contain eight inch globes, one for the Blue lodge of Masonry, one for the chapter, one for the commandry and one for the Eastern Star. The lights are so arranged that each will burn..on the night on which that lodge meets. FIRE DESTROYS COTTAGES V DELAVAN LAKE, WIS. Five • cottages at Delavan Lake, Wis., were destroyed by fire one day recently. A stiff wind, which arose shortly after *a match had been touched to a large pile of dry leaves, carried the burning leaves to a nearby cottage and before a bucket brigade was able to check the flames the above damage had been affected.
