Pearson • spent Saturday in Chicago.^ American Legion Legionnaires give a last minute reminder to all citizens of McHenry that there are just tWo more days left to put the finishing touches on the costumes for the masquerade ball to be held at the McHenry American Legion Home. Unmasking will take place at midnight. Final plans have been Completed by the committee for this gala affair to be held this Saturday evening. There will be- fun and prizes for young and old. Entire proceeds are to go for the rehabilitation program cf the. hospital iz'ed veterans at Downey hospital, so make plans to get up a party of your friends if you have not already done so, and help us continue to bring pleasure to veterans lying in tho hospital that many' of us have forgotten, ftiany of.LJfem from World War t • Voiture 518 > ' McHenry county voyageurs' of Voiture 578 took pait in the annual Illinois-Wisconsin Wreck, which was held May 3, "at Madi<- son, Wis., by Voiture 683 of Madison. , Chef E>e Gare Harold Vycital, Peter Nerstad, correspondent, Hugh Saynor publiciste, arid Vovageur Robert Krinn, all of McHenry were present at the wreck, along with many other voyageurs of 578 from neighboring towns. Fred Forester of Harvard was the candidate of Voiture 578 to be wrecked. It is a day that will long be remembered by Fred and all those who were candidates at the Illinois-Wisconsin Wreck. There was prelimenary funmaking in the morning and a large parade at noon around the qapitol square by the P. G.'s (candidates) and the RIGS of various voittires. Among these was the fine engine of Windy City voitui*. Following til 9 paraflc the gendarmes add conductor got down to the serious funmaking and by 6 p.m. the impressive ritual ceremony had been completed and all candidates were installed as official voyageurs and then every one was served a tasty supper put on by Voiyure 683 of Madison. Robert Krinn and Hugh Saynor, publiciste, came home with many fine pictures they had taken of the Wreck. Before they left Madison they had enough requests for pictures to keep them busy for the next year supplying /every one who asked for them. Trap ttttarw .
