Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Cynowa and family of Lakemoor went to Chicago Saturday, May 23, to spend the day with Ray's mother who celebrated her sixtyfirst birthday with her family around her. Everyone enjoyed a family get-together. Happy birthday to Mrs. Agnes Simmons, who is 1 year older May 28, Mrs. Clifford To<Jd, May 30, and to Mrs. John D. Kraus. June 2. June and 'Curly' Kraus-will be moving from Lakemoor June 1 into McHenry. All their friends and neighbors regret seeing them go but as it so often happens, we will probably see more of them than we did when they lived right here. Let's hope so anyway. Little Wayne Kawell of Lakemoor was 2 years old Saturday, May 23. His grandparents and aunts and uncles came out from Chicago for the day to help him celebrate. Everyone had a nice time. Dale O'Leary of Lakemoor broke his leg Thursday, May 21, I at school while playing baseball. ' It seems he slid into second base j a little too hard. Dale came home thinking his leg was only | slightly hurt and after the swel- | ling became worse, Henry Hopi pert, our chief of police, drove j him to the doctor, where it was i discovered he had a broken leg. and fam- j Dale is able to attend his classes at school with the help of crutches but has to 1rt« __ leg for some time. The rain last Sunday didn't hamper Larry Ehrhardt and Ted Beahler of Lakemoor from getting out and flying kites just like little boys. They were really having a good time doing it. The teenagers of Lakemoor played baseball last Sunday against the 'old-timers' and won 12 "to 8. The boys turned out all ready and full of pep and energy to play but, only a feW of the old-timers came out under their own speed, The fftllows did real good at that. The men worked on the community house last. Sunday even through the downpour of rain that came later in the morning. Work will continue next Sunday even though it is a holiday, weekehd. The community house really looks fine and the boys* hope to have the first floor pretty well completed by the end of summer. * 1 Rose Ann Brzezinaki of Lakemoor celebrated her ninth birth-, day Saturday, May 23, by having a 'weenie roast outside with cake, ice cream, and candy served too. Her guests, Donald and Diane Kibbe, Diane Cartan, Tommy" Para, Burke Romkowski, the Foss boys and the Pazdiora children enjoyed playing games and flying kites later to the afternoon. Everyone had m wonderful time. Frank and Charlotte Lias from Chicago were weekend guests at the Walter Para home in Lakemoor. Mr. and Mrs. Erickson of Chicago were guests on Sunday, May 24. ^at the Harold FOBS home in Lakemoor. ; The Lilymoor association is holding a dance Saturday, May 30, at Club Lilymoor. Hie dance will start at 9 p.m. and music vill be provided by the Blui Nb£es. Tickets will be availalble at the door. If you have company over Memorial Day, bring them along. Should prove to be a nice evening out. William J. Kerr, branch manager of Hewitt-Robins, Inc., of Chicago, will be a special speaker at the 11 o'clock service at' the McHenry Bible church in Lakemoor Sunday, May 31. Special music will be provided and a cordial invitation is extended to all who can attend. A reminder that junior choir is held every Wednesday night at 7 p.m., with a regular prayer meeting at 8 p.m. Sundays. Sunday School is, held at 9:45 a.m. and there is an evening service at 8 p.m. All boys and girls from the ages of 3 to 15 are invited to attend the Bible vacation school to be held June 8 through June 19, Monday through Friday, from 9 am. to 12:10 p.m. The Lily Lake P.T.A. is planning on holding a picnic Thursday, June 4, at Margaret Baker's home. Mother of pre-school children are welcome to come out and join in the fun. It is going to be a pot-luck affair starting around noon. Patricia Pike and Dorothy Bonder of Lakemoor are co-chairmen of the picnic. icotmty.
