The ladies of the auxiliary, aided the firemeh in the serving of the food and taking in the tickets at the door. Many of the people were in costumes. Prizes were awarded Jenny Valone, who was dressed as an Indian squaw, and Irving Immden, brother-inlaw of Ivan Gustafson, who was dressed as a cave man. The judges had a very hard timeP to pick the winner because of the great variety- and originality of all the costumes. We all hope this Will turn out to be a standing yearly affair in the community. Auxiliary Meeting f bast Wednesday evening, there wis an auxiliary meeting and it was made known that the movie projector, owned by \he auxiliary, can be loaned to the different clubs of the comnunity. Plans for the feather party Nov. 20, whiQh will be held at Wally's Oasis and proceeds of which go for the Christmas party for the children of the village, were also discussed. ' Hostesses for the evening were Mesdames ' Harder, Hyatt and Hoppert. Donuts and coffee were served and progressive bunco was played. Two new members were welcomed into the club. They are Mrs. <ei&rk and Miss Clark. At this meeting Mrs. Vi Vinee'r gave her report on the rummage sale which netted $158. Congratulations, Vi, we all know you worked very hard to make this such a huge success. ^ Birthdays Last Tuesdays Ted Beahler celebrated his birthday and on Friday, two other local residents had their birthdays, our fire chief, Harry Strnad, and Mrs. Joe Romkowski. Happy birthday to all of you and may you have many more birthdays to come. Anniversaries Mr. and Mrs. John Kraus, Sr., celebrated their twenty-ninth wedding anniversary this past Saturday. While talking to Julia during the course of the evening, she informed me it seems -no more than ten years to her. John, you sure must make a wonderful husband. Congratulations to the both of . you and may you have many more such happy years together. ' - - "ft" > >. i if> t •'-» n Engagement and Wedding Plans Mrs. Louisa Nielson wishes to announce her engagement to Jos&ph Janiczewski of Lakemoor. The happy couple will be married Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 6:45 p.m. in the community building. The ceremony will be performed by Rev. Lobitz. Her attendants will be her daughter, Lucy, and Wally Szarek. A reception will follow right after the ceremony in the community building, also. Our best wishes go out to you, Louisa and Joe. Hallowe'en party for the children of the Lily Lake school on Friday. Popcorn balls, candy and ice cream were served. Each boy received a small car and each girl a book. Children were all dressed in costumes and explained what, each represented. The children in Mrs. Douglas' ,rodm entertained the mothers. The brownies of Lakemoor had their Hallowe'en party last Tuesday. Ice cream, donuts and candy was served to them. The children also started their Christmas project of making and selling boutonnieres. The McHenry Bible church is having a belated Hallowe'en party Saturday, .Nov. 6, in Algonquin. Anyone desiring to go please meet at/the fire house- at 6:i5 p.m. and transportation will be furnished for you. Hot dogs were served and, even though the weather was quite cold, all the girls and boys had a very nice time. General News Mrs. 'Gerald Brown, formerly Jerry Einspar, has gone to Key West, Fla., to join her husband, who is in the service. Mr. and M^s. Myron Morrison are visiting the McDermotts. Mr. Morrison • will be leaving on business and Mrs. Morrison will be staying with the McDermotts for a few weeks. Last Friday, Helen Para and Rozanne Brzezinski went to Chicago to the birthday party of Helen's niece, Christine Schutte. Rozanne stayed the weekend with her cousin and came home Monday night. Mr, and Mrs. Beahler had company from Chicago this past weekend. They were Marie's uncles, Richard, Vaner and Paul Rulien. Julia Hansen, a friend, was also out. They came to the dance Saturday night and enjoyed themselves immensely. On Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth VanCleve and children were out to the Foss home.
