She was rushed to McHenry -hospital where a pin was inserted. The doctor told her she could go home after five days if she would promise to stay in bed--that she did. Now she can walk a little and she tells me if her license hadn't expired she would be driving around the country viewing some of these beautiful colors and soaking in the warm sun. Fall Chores Mrs. John Valaski of W. Sunnyside drive has been under the weather lately but . able to get out in the yard and do the necessary chores that are required at this time of the year. Good Report Rock Kennebeck, 10 year old son of Bernard, was taken to the family doctor Saturday for a checkup. The report was merely a cold but sometimes that can be serious. The family had a nice visit with Aunt Jeanette Gaylord in Woodstock. Bill Andrews from Toronto, Canada (formerly from McHenry) was a house guest of the Thomases for the weekend. The Willliamses were happy to have the chance to be with Bill as they were good friends before he moved to Canada. Fun-a-go-go Last 'Sunday the Williamses went to church and from there they and their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas from Lincoln road, had lunch near Elgin then back for a little fishing and fun and later some goodies were served. Sewers The regular October meeting was well attended. Mayor Mangold said about the sewer vote: This matter isn't ended because we are just getting started. As to when the sewage plant proposal might again be brought up for a referendum, Mangold said: Any time. It's not dead. It could be presented in 30 days. That decision is up to the board. I am with them one hundred per cent and he also said the state is very much interested in this area. We will hold meetings well ahead1 of voting day--15 of them if need be, until everyone understands the issues. We've got to prove the worth of this idea to the people. Attorney Higgins suggested to let the trustees write down all known objections to your plan, in order to meet them. The village balance on hand at the end of September was reported as $4,089 by Treasurer Mary Harrington. Chip had a time lugging it down off the shelf, but he wanted, once again, to look at some of the fascinating pictures. He's a small boy for such a big bode. Maybe he doesn't understand all of it. But it whets his curiosity, and the curiosity of a small boy is truly insatiable. Even as Chip glances at the pictures, questions are racing through his mind. And to whom will he address these questions? To you! When youngsters ask questions, it Is up to us, supposedly "grownup" and therefore wiser, to try to give them the right answers. In this day of sometimes dubious and changing values, that isn't always easy. We must first make sure that we have the true basic answers ourselves. There is no surer way of doing this than by arming ourselves with the faith and wisdom found in the Holy Scriptures and in our churches.
